Default Instrument lights/side marker lights and tail light failure.

I have a 94 hardbody pickup and the instrument/side marker and tail lights started to blink and then went out completely. Brake Lights, back up lights, turn signals and Head lights all work. I replace the bulbs and cannot find a fuse or relay to check next. Any ideas???

Check the fuse under "Tail Light", but if the fuse keeps blowing the harness needs to be inspected. I check the Nissan database for that problem and found 3 incidents; all three point to a damage wire behind the dash panel, near the glove box. In all three repairs the dash was removed to access the damage wire.

Default No luck on fuses

I checked all the fuses and none are blown. Could the problem possibly be in the light switch on the column? I guess I'll let the shop figure it out, but will post findings when I get them. Thanks for the help anyway.

I have to agree with NissanTech, it definately sounds like a short that is within a harness if some of the system is working and others are not. It's not as simple as a blown fuse I don't think.

Sounds like you have to remove the dash and trace wires with a volt meter. If you don't know what your doing, you'd better take it to a mechanic if your warranty has expired. If you have a warranty, simply take to the dealership. You could damage more than your original required repair job if you don't know what your looking for and if you don't ahve access to schematic diagrams, etc.

Default broken wire

The nissantech was right, a wire was worn through and subsequently shorted out the light switch.
