98 Frontier starts fine, the quits when warm
I have a 98 Frontier 2.4 4cyl 5 speed 2wd. The problem started: When I would start it, started perfect (Still does). Then I would drive until the engine was warm and sometimes it would stall at a stop. This progressed rapidly to stalling for sure at a stop, and then cutting out while running. If I'm driving along and the engine quits, if I turn the key off and on it resumes running. Any ideas?:

I'd check out the electrical part of the ignition switch. On my own '98, the electrical part went bad and would magically come on even with keys out of vehicle, burned through a few batteries before I tracked down the issue. I was set to just replace the electrical part on mine, but found I couldn't get one same day on a Saturday a few years ago - anywhere. So on mine I just installed a 30-amp toggle switch, and we turn off power to the switch.
Yours could be an intermittent on the side powering the ignition, so check that out. |

98 frontier
Turned out to be a dirty Mass Air Flow sensor, cleaned it and it's OK, but thanks and bless you for your input!
