Default Trailer Brake Controller

Had a good experience with installing a brake controller and the n towing. I have a 2008 King Cab 4x4 4.0l. It has the Nissan 7 pin harness installed. The brake controller is a Tekonsha Voyager. It came with a Nissan jumper that plugged right into the truck wiring harness. I have long legs so I was concerned about mounting it under the dash. I found a good spot in the change tray in front of the gear shift. With the braket upside down I drilled a couple small holes in the bottom of the tray and mounted it there. The wires tucked neatly out of the way. I pulled a 5000 pound trailer just shy of 500 miles on interstates. Brakes worked perfectly. Made for a nice trip.

There should be a plug under the driver's side of the dash above the gas pedal area. Nissan makes an accessory connector to wire a brake controller or you can check etrailer.com. They usually sell them with the plug already on it.

In my 2006 Pathfinder, I use a Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885C controller with a Tekonsha # 3050-P brake control harness. It's all plug and play (no wires to cut/splice).
