Default reflashing TCM on RE5RO5A

I am pretty sure I have overlooked the answer to this question;

Sorry about that! My computer went crazy while I was typing that last and afterward I forgot about it. My question was whether or not the TCM would need to be reflashed if it was from the same type RE5RO5A tranny. Getting so many different responses from other sources that I am totally confused.

Technically speaking, any "new to the vehicle" TCM would have to be initialized to the ECM for them to communicate with each other. That said, you might get lucky; only way to tell would be to install it and see how the transmission operates. If it doesn't, then have a dealer program it.
