Synthetic Oil
Hello all! Just found this site, looks great. Just wondering how many of you use synthetic oil in your Frontiers?

Just got mine broke in. I will be using synthetic when I change it in about a week. I've used synthetic since the late 70's. Its probably been over kill due to the way I drive. It's peace of mind I guess. I've never had a leak by using it. I put it in a Toyota Tacoma with 89000 miles. Never had a problem.
If you can afford the price difference, go for it. BTW, I've used Amsoil, & Mobil 1. Both were great. |

I just changed mine to full synthetic in both motor, tranny, transfer case, and diffs.
I have't noticed any difference but I'm sure the motor and gears are.

I recently switched to Castrol 5w50 in the engine, Redline MT90 in the transmission, and Amsoil 75w110 in the differential. I can't tell it helps the mpg, but I used heavier oil in all cases.

Why are you changing synthetic oil every 2K miles? Throwing away good oil in my estimation. Synthetics were developed to give better performance for more miles. I stared using Mobil I in my 04 but change it every 10K miles. I figure I am getting my moneys worth.
