Lightbulb 2007 nissan maxima starter removal and replacement

So you press the start button, and, nothing happens, or, you hear a grinding sound of metal on metal, or, just the whirr or the starter motor but no engine cranking.
Your starter has malfunction or just plain died. OK. What do you do next. You can take your car to a shop and pay a lot to replace the starter, or, to the Dealer and pay even more, or DO IT YOURSELF for a lot LESS.
This job is so simple. You have to do something deliberately WRONG to do it wrong.

The Starter is located at the front of the engine bay, on the engine, between the engine and the Radiator( Fan.)

READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY BEFORE STARTING.

MATERIAL and TOOLS
1. Replacement Starter
2. 14mm Wrench
3. 13mm Wrench
4. 13mm Socket
5. 12mm Wrench
6. 10mm Wrench
7. 10mm Deep Socket
8. 12 or 18 inch Socket Extensions
9. Socket Driver
10. Small Flat Blade Screw Driver
11. Shop Rags
12. Old Tooth Brush

PROCEDUE / REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
All work is done from the top.( really convenient.)

1. Remove Air intake tube over top of the Radiator,(Small flat blade screw driver to loosen the 4 attaching quick release clips. )
2. Disconnect negative Battery Terminal( 10mm Wrench)
3. Remove Battery hold-down Clamp and Remove Battery(10mm Deep Socket)
4. Remove Battery Tray(5 13mm Bolts.) A part of the Wiring Harness is attached to the Battery Tray by plastic wire ties. Cut wire ties to free wiring harness from Battery Tray.
The Starter is now Exposed, attached to the engine, between the engine and the Radiator( Fan.)
5. Disconnect the Large Positive wire from the Starter Solenoid(12mm Wrench)
6. Unclip the wiring harness from the solenoid to Starter link.
7. Using the old tooth Brush, clean the area on the Transmission where the Dip Tube attaches to the top of the CVT transmission. You will remove this tube later.
8. Loosen the two Starter Bolts, both upper and lower are 14mm, located at 11 & 7 o’clock position(14mm wrench), but do not completely remove the bolts at this time, because the Transmission Dip tube blocks Starter removal.
9. Remove the bolts that attaches the Dip tube to the Transmission, and the engine coolant intake tube(10mm Deep socket with extension)
10. Remove Transmission Dip tube and COVER EXPOSED HOLE WITH A CLEAN SHOP RAG.
11. Completely remove starter Bolts and remove Starter
12. Examine starter for Pinion teeth damage, and Ring Gear/Fly wheel teeth for damages
13. Match Old to New Starter to make sure you have the correct Starter.
14. Installation is Reverse order of removal (Starting at #11)
15. Finger tighten nuts and bolts until snug, before tightening all the way to specification. Do not over tighten the nuts and bolts.
16. With a fully charged battery, start engine and check your installation.

The Shop Manual Specs for the Stater Bolts is 37 - 45 ft-lbs. I used 42 ft-lbs.
Thanks for the feed back.
