Air-Fuel Sensor Voltage
I have a 2005 Enthusiast 6MT. After reading a post on another forum about air-fuel sensor voltages, I used a scan tool to check my car. Per the Service Manual, my air-fuel sensors are wide-band units and the voltage output should be approximately 1.5 Volts at lambda = 1. In the forum post, and on my car, the voltages hover around 0.3 Volts for Bank 1 and 0.6 Volts for Bank 2. I know that 2003 and early 2004 model year Zs used narrow-band sensors. It appears that Nissan continued to use the OBD-II PID for narrow-band sensors after the switch to wide-band units and simply scaled the voltage readouts to match the requirements of that PID. I would like one of the Nissan techs to either confirm my suspicions or explain my readings (and the readings on the other forum).
