Default stock stereo works/aftermarket does not

Hi , i have a 2000 xtrerra ,so theres no confusion my stereo sytem is all stock ...my problemb is i want to replace the stock unit with a aftermarket one. There is nothing wrong with the stock unit ,,it lights up ,has sound plays cd.s the radio and tape deck works the whole sha-bang ,, i tried changing the unit out myself i bought the correct wiring harness and made sure i plugged the antenna jack in ,,but the best i could get was the after market stereo would light up but no sound ,,,so i took my xterra to a car audio shop to install the aftermarket stereo that i bought ,they got the same results as me ,,,the unit lit up and everything worked except the audio . they tried three different after market stereo units and all of them did the same as my after market stereo so i know it's not a problemb with my unit (not to mention my aftermarket stereo worked great in the 2000 mistsubishi i pulled it out of ).the guys at the car audio place called nissan to ask if there was a factory amp somewhere in the truck who ever they spoke with told them no . i'm baffled and at my witts end .((HELP))and ideas or solutions are greatly appreciated .thanks.

Until a specialist replies - You say you purchased the correct harness - are you sure? You said you tried other aftermarket's and they all didn't have sound - sure sounds like the harness is at fault. Can you plug your "stock radio" backup through the "new harness?" I'll bet the speakers won't work.

thanks for the reply navy,
I can't plug my stock unit up to the harness that fits my after market harness, but if i plug the stock unit into the stock harness it works ,
I tried hard wiring the stock and after market stereo once again the stock worked great and the after market lit up but no sound. thing is i know for sure the after market unit works .

Why don't you contact the maker of the aftermarket and see what they say? It might be something as simple as a resister for the speakers.

It sounds like you may have a couple wires hooked up wrong. Double check the power wires. You should have 2 usually. 1 red and 1 yellow. I have seen some radios that use the yellow as constant power and some that use the red as constant power.Double check the wires on the aftermarket harness. Here are the wire colors from the vehicle side: It looks like it is possible that the ground and right front - may be switched.

2000 Nissan Xterra Stereo Information
Constant 12V+Pink
Switched 12V+Blue
Ground Gray
IlluminationRed/Blue
DimmerRed/Yellow
Left Front (+)Pink
Left Front (-)Blue
Right Front (+)White
Right Front (-)Black
Left Rear (+)Light Green
Left Rear (-)Purple
Right Rear (+)Blue
Right Rear (-)Pink

i just noticed something on the website for the after market stereo under installation .it says the unit is only designed for use with 4 speakers ,do not combine output for use with 2 speakers , now i know my xterra has 4 speakers plus it has stock mini/tweeters , could the tweets be the reason?

the installation manual/guide

It looks like there may be 2 black wires on your wiring adapter. 70-7550 Nissan 95-05; Plugs into Car Harness at radio, (Power/4-Speaker); make sure you have them hooked properly.

what are they? both cant be a ground ?? do you think that the tweeters are affecting the stereo seeing as it said 4 speakers only ,if they are countable then that would make 6 speakers.
