Unhappy 2012 Rogue Back Up Beeper

My brand new 2012 Rogue back up beeper is not audible. I have confirmed that the setting is set correctly per the manual. The BEEP sound is ON. The camera works, just no beeping. I have also confirmed that the volume was turned to an audible level. Any thoughts as to what is wrong?

I have never seen a Rogue with an audible back up alarm. As far as I know they just have the option for the camera.

Default Rear Camera Audible Alert

To clarify it is the audible warning beeps when the vehicle is too close to an object. There is no audible warning beep. Per the manual a beep is supposed to be heard. I have confirmed the BEEP setting is turned on and the volume is on.

The beep setting is for the display screen. It turns the beep for the screen on or off. When it is on you will hear a beep each time you press a button on the screen.

Question

My Rogue is equipped with a Rearview Monitor and an Around View Monitor. Apparantly this is different than the Sonar System, which is what I was referring too. Only the Sonar System sounds a tone to warn of obstacles near the bumper. How do I know if my vehicle is equipped with Sonar? If it is not equipped, is it something that can be added?

I have not seen a rogue come with the sonar system from the factory yet. You would probably have to add an aftermarket system.
