Default Transmission Question

I tow a 24' Aluminum Enclosed Car Trailer. On a recent trip, and it was the return segment, my transmission started downshifting at will for no road conditiion reason.

The transmission temp, I have the towing package, ran up to the tick mark just below hot, and the only way to get it back to drive was to select neutral and then put it back in drive.

This happened several times on a 300 mile trip.

I have a two day appointment at the dealership for the brake and wire harness recalls and want this problem found and corrected.

When I made the appointment the service manager told me he had never heard of this problem. What is up with that? Can they not pull codes from the computer and see what is going on?

Welcome to the forums!!

I haven't seen it either, but if the car overheated it should had an overheated code store in the engine control unit.
