Clearly I need a wheel alignment - I have one front tire with just enough meat to pass the state inspection. The other three tires are just fine. Is it OK to just replace that one tire or do I need to replace two? Seems an awful shame to get rid of a perfectly good tire.

we were talking about that at school last week. he told us the best thing to do is have the same tire on on either side(front or rear). so same fronts and same rears but if your other wheel is pretty new then i dont see why not just get the one side. just make sure they are the same size. u can always just save the one u took off just incase u need it if u get a flat or a blow out(knock on wood)

I agree with sergey85. Just make sure it is the same exact tire (size, treads, etc.). Heck, you might see if your spare is still good.

Good thought sergey85 but spare is a 'donut'

no i was just saying that if u do decide to replace both of the fronts or the rear u could save that one good tire and save it for justin case. yeah u dont want to drive on that for dd. just make sure the spare is fully aired and good to go just in case

OK. So you don't recommend replacing only one tire, right? I agree, if I do replace tgwo I will always have a spare 'real' tire for an emergency (like when my 401K hits zero!)
