The Pressure solenoid is inside the transmission and it helps regulate the pressure from the trans fluid pump.

There is also a "Dropping resistors", that controls the voltage from the ECM to the solenoid. If the resistor fail, it can also trigger the same code. The resistor is located in the engine compartment.

Before removing the transmission valve body to inspect the solenoid, you should inspect the resistor and replaced if necessary.

Default Thanks for the help

I just want to thank you for the help. I also wanted to let others know what the out come was. I was getting the code P0745. My mechanic said it wasn't the transmission or the wiring harness. The problem was under the dash a swith that converts 12 volts to 8 volts for the computer. Can anyone tell me more about this?

For which computer? Trans Computer? I'm not aware of any switch that converts 12 to 8 volts and I looked at the diagram and I couldn't find it.

Default Switch

It was on the trans computer the blue rectangle box it has a silver attachement the resistor that was the part. Does that make sense. He said something about my wires running to this part were old and the new tranny parts were it better condition something about ohms.

It doesn't make sense, sometimes we, the mechanics, don't like to admit we did something wrong and we blame another part :-). I personally don't do that but I have seen other techs doing it ;-). I'm glad he fix the problem for you.

Default 95 altima tranny issue

I seem to have a similar problem with my 95 Altima GXE. When I start the car the o/d light flashes 16 times but the service engine soon light is not on. Does this mean I have the same problem and should I seek my normal mechanic or a tranny specialist? Also when starting from a stop the car is pretty sluggish so it's obviously tranny related..hopefully nothing too serious! Thanks!

japapoe, you should check the transmission control unit for codes. Some AutoParts can do it free for you.

can you show me a diagram of the "Dropping resistors", that controls the voltage from the ECM to the solenoid, to see if I can find and replace?

I only have the wire diagram for your model year, but I think is located by the left front shock tower, near the air filter.

mine is throwing a p0745 code and i'm wondering what options i have the car is shifting hard between first and second . would it be cheaper to buy another tranny and replace it or try to take the old one out to replace the solenoids. or do you have to pull the tranny out to replace them. i will be doing the work myself to save on labor. thanks

my service engine soon light is on and in the diagnostic report it says p0325 knock sensor 1 circuit malfunction and p0745 pressure control solenoid malfunction, what will be the best solution ,will replacement of these parts solve the engine light problem too.

The knock sensor code will not cause the check engine light to come on. The p0745 could be caused by a problem with the solenoid pack in the transmission or also the dropping resistor located on the firewall.
Does the transmission shift hard?
