Nissan Altima Trunk opens on its own
I have a 2003 Nissan Altima which I bought used from a private seller. The trunk of the car opens on its own while the car is parked. There is no set time when the trunk opens. Sometimes it does not open for days and sometimes it opens 2-3 times within a few hours. What can be done to correct this issue? I have taken out the cable in the trunk of the car and use the key to open the trunk. I would prefer to use the remote to open the trunk rather than open the trunk with the key.

Welcome to the forums.
Not a common problem. My best guess is that the trunk switch may short out at time. I recommend removing the door panel, disconnecting the switch and test the car for a few days. If the problem is still occurring you may have a short from in the wire from the trunk switch to the trunk actuator, and more diagnosis to find the wire will be require.
