Default 1996 Altima running rough

My 1996 has 88K. During the last 2 months, the check engine light comes randomly. I had it diag'd and got a number 2 code (that's what the tech said) telling me that the 4th piston in misfiring. I did a complete tune up.
plugs/wires/cap/rotor. That didn't fix the rough idle. Now it's getting much worse. When i come to a stop, the RPM's goes up and down. Like it wants to stall. Here's a few ideas i have:

1) Inspect Fuel Injectors
2) Test Coils for Proper Ohms
3) Check/Replace Knock Sensor

I'm gonna have to take it to a shop and have it worked on. I just want some idea what the problem is before i turn my car over to some garage.
Would love to hear your ideas, thanks

George

Before you take it to the shop. Check the information in this two bulletins.

(this one, although does not apply to Altima, can help you fix the problem before you replaced any injectors)
