Default Need help please

My wife went to visit her sister about three hours away. She called me and said the car wouldn’t start and was acting like the battery was dead. Auto zone confirmed it could use replaced so they were able to replace it but it still would not start with the new battery. The next day tow truck came and got it started and said it was flooded. She did tell me they started it briefly the day before just to move it. I read on another forum that this happened to them. Anyone else have any issues like this? I am debating about if I should go ahead and have it looked over before I go get it and have something happen on the way home.
