2005 Altima 2.5S Sedan will not accelerate
Hi all,
Here's the background and what I've already done. Back at the end of November our Altima was idling roughly. It wanted to kind of leap forward intermittently. While I was waiting to pick up my daughter at school it did this so I turned off the engine. Of course, I couldn't get it started again. Had it jump started, tried to driver home but could not accelerate over 10 or so miles per hour. Ended up having it towed home. Eventually, I couldn't get the car to start/turn over. Or even attempt to turn itself over. Computer reader threw me an error of P0340 "Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit (Bank 1 or single sensor) After that error code and some research I replaced the camshaft positioning sensor and the second sensor we always hear about. The car started, okay great..... The battery must of drained too because I had to get the battery replaced before it would start. (Battery was less than a year old.) This replacement battery has become weaker. Now, after a few weeks sitting around and better weather, I finally tried getting the car out to drive. But was going to fix the parking break. The "Break" light in dash is on even if the handle is released. And I'm hearing grinding noises when I roll the car in reverse and forward gently. But, I'm thinking now its just the rust and grit from sitting in the drive way with no usage for two months. After attempting to drive it down the street I learned that the acceleration issue has NOT been fixed. Any ideas? Car will not accelerate over about 5-10 mph. Any help is much appreciated! Could this all be the alternator? Best, ZDP |
