2004 Altima 2.5l Immobilizer question
I was replacing the immobilizer in my Altima because I would intermittent periods of the car not starting code P1610. I had my ecm checked at a local shop and they told me everything checked out fine. I called my nissan dealership and they recommended changing the Immobilizer. Afterwards I would need to have it reprogrammed which a local locksmith can do. I purchased a used on off an auction website and began removing the old one. Unfortunately, when I was removing the one screw (25630AA is the lookup code/ 28408-C9901 is part number) it flew off somewhere behind the radio when I tried to snag it out with needle nose pliers. My question is this, does anyone know the dimensions of that immobilizer screw. I can order it from the nissan dealership but they are about an 1hr away and currently have no way to get there. I have a local hardware store in town that sells screws and such. Thank You!

Critical component like the IMMU I would not install a used one. I replaced mine 50k miles ago with new Nissan IMMU purchased on eBay. Take the other screw to your local hardware store, Ace, Home Depot or Lowes, etc. to get a replacement.

Thank You bennyb53 for you respnse! I think the one I got is the same and in working condition. I was taking off my existing one to replace it with the new one from ebay. I accidentally had the retaining screw fly off and I lost it somewhere behind the radio. I was wondering if someone knew the dimensions of that screw. I went ahead yesterday and ordered one from nissan. I just hate paying $6 for shipping on a $2 part. Anyway, thank you for taking the time out to reply!
