2003 Altima Sedan Shaking and Losing Electrical
Hello everyone. Our 2003 Altima Sedan has a number of problems and I'm not sure where to start. Here are the main two.
1. Sometimes (not always) the engine shakes while idling and smells of gasoline fumes. Giving it more gas reduces the shaking. The check engine light comes on when this happens. We took it to a local repair shop and they just replaced the spark plugs. This improved how it was running overall but did not fix the shaking or the smell. 2. Sometimes while driving, the electrical systems in the car turn off, only to turn on again a split second later. When it comes back on the seat belt light is on, even though everyone is buckled. We're worried that it might die soon while driving, and we don't have much faith in the mechanic to actually resolve the issue. Could any of you give us some advice so we can tell the mechanic what to look for? |

Look for a mechanic who will do his own diagnosis based on the symptoms.
If the mechanic needs to be told what to look for by the customer, best to find another mechanic. Otherwise you may be charged for labor/parts that aren't needed. |
