Default 2004 Nissan Altima s rear motor mount

Hello all, new member here. I have a 04 Nissan Altima with a bad rear motor mount. Got everything unbolted, do you have to drop the subframe to get the old one out and new one in? Any help would be appreciated. Tried the search button with no luck. Thank you

Or can you get away with unbolt ing the bracket from the engine and getting the mount out?

Once the mounting bolts are loose, jack up the engine slightly to ease tension with the mounting bracket. Remove the bolts and old engine mount and install the new one.
I did not have a lift so I raise the front end and crawl underneath lying on my back. Also in my case the front bottom bolt will not clear the bell housing. I didn't have power tool so I painstakingly hacksaw it, hopefully this is not your case. The replacement bolt was inserted from the driver side.

Oops! correction. The replacement bolt was inserted from the passenger side.

I did all that Benny, but I couldn't get the mount to clear the bracket that bolted to the engine. I couldn't even get the engine to budge but 1/2 inch

Okay. In my case I did the HG job so a lot of parts already removed including the right side engine mount. As I remember when I jack up the engine and tension released, the mount just kind of loos and easy to remove.

Your case is different may be you have to remove the bracket. I think the procedure would be in the suspension loose leaf manual. Also search on you tube.

Just a follow-up Haynes manual says to remove the engine bracket.
