Default 2007 CVT fluid change capacity

I have 130,000 miles on a pristine 2007 2.5 SL. I want to change the cvt fluid as a preventative measure.

I bought the cvt fluid from the dealer at about $11 per quart. I think I have 6 or 7 quarts. Can someone tell me how many quarts I need? I don't want to buy and waste extra fluid but I also don't want to come up short when the dealer is closed.

Thanks,
Rick

They usually take about 5.5 qts for a drain and refill if it has a drain plug in the pan.

Thanks for your reply. I have searched everywhere for this information and they always refer me to the dealership.

I have a cvt drain plug. Looks like a simple drain and fill operation.

Thanks,
Rick

when you refill it you want the level to be in the middle of the hash marks on the stick when the transmission fluid is at operating temperature. I usually start with about 4 1/4 quarts and then add as needed. Depending on the amount of time you let it drain it can range anywhere between 4.5 to 5.5 quarts.
