How do I check cvt fluid level - 2007 altima
I bought 6 quarts of cvt fluid off ebay. Thanks to all who recommend ebay over the dealer pricing.
Now I need to know how to check the fluid level for a total fluid change. I checked my Chilton manual but it is not clear. The owner's manual says to take the car to the dealer for a fluid level check/change. I say bs. It can't be that difficult. Can someone tell me how to check the fluid level after a fluid change? Engine running/engine off. Fluid cold/fluid hot. There has to be a better way. My dealer wanted about $150 to "test the cvt fluid". Give me a break! |

I'm not sure why the manual recommend to have the dealer check the fluid level. Here are the instructions from the service manual:

Thank you for your help. I swear to GOD, the owner's manual says to take the car to the dealer for cvt fluid level check and servicing.
I bought the fluid off e-bay and plan to do it myself this weekend. Thanks again. This is a most helpful website. |

it likely does. The service manual will say different. Todays owners manuals dont say much more than dealer for everything because the companies want them to be dealer serviced only, especially with todays crucial trans specs
