Problem in Altima max speed 140km/hr,
I have nissam altima 2008 2.5s ... the computer cuts of the gas pedal and does not allow it speed over 140 km/h when i use the automatic or manual drive and cuts the pedal gas at 130 km/h when i use the cruse drive.
i tested my car in nissan company with there computer (consult 3) and showed no problem or error !!!!!!!! note that i change the gear oil (CVT oil). so ... what the solution ... why this problem?!? |

There is nothing wrong with your car. 140 Km/h = 86.992 mph. Are you always at that speed or higher? If you are, the computer senses you might be losing control and it throttles you down without your input. Learn if your vehicle is equip with electronic stability program (esp). ESP is mandatory beginning the 2012 models in N. America.

am always at that speed or less ... my car does't rise more than 140 km/h ... when i reach 140 km/h (on the 6th gear and RPM 2.4) the gas pedal not respond, and if i go to (5th gear the speed still remain at 140 km/h but the RPM stop at 4.5 then the gas pedal cut) and the same thing for the (4th gear RPM 5.5 then pedal cut).
am sure the gear oil is in normal temperature. ok bennyb53 what to do for the computer if "the computer senses you might be losing control and it throttles you down without your input."?!? and who to learn about ESP?! |

Your owner's manual should have made reference to the system. Nissan calls their system Vehicle Dynamic Control (vdc). Before the 2010 models, this was an Optional Package on 3.5 V6 engines only. Beginning on 2010 models this became a standard equipment. And became mandatory for 2012 models. Your 2008 2.5 would not have the VDC installed. I apologize for my misstatement.
