Default 1994 altima won't shift after long drive

Hi,

For a couple of weeks, the clutch pedal in my 1994 Altima had seemed to be loose: I had to depress the clutch pedal almost to the floor to disengage the clutch. During this time I had just been taking the car on short trips, but yesterday I drove the car for about 50 miles (highway driving), and when I came to a stop, I couldn't get the car into first gear.

I've looked through some of the other posts on this forum, and others seem to have had problems with the clutch master or slave cylinders when something like this occurs. Is there anything I can do before I take my car to the shop, such as check a fluid level. I know how to bleed brake lines, but I'm not so sure about bleeding this system.

Thanks,
-Rod

if there's clutch fluid (same as brake fluid DOT 3) then its likely the slave cylinder and you have to replace. you can get one from napa, oreilly, auto zone, or whoever is near you.
