2002 Nissan Altima 2.5L 4cyc won't start
I drove about 60 miles the day it started giving me trouble. Within the last mile I noticed a ticking/clicking noise that was coming from the passenger side of the engine compartment (I parked with it running and popped the hood, it sounded like it was near the alternator).
About 4 hours later I had to run out for a minute and started the car with no problems. I drove about 100 feet and the car stalled on me. I tried to start it up but it wouldn't start. When I turn the key I don't get a cranking noise it almost sounds like a steady whir type noise. I also noticed when I got out of the car the alarm had reset itself (I had turned it off because I work late and the constant beeping it would make when opening/closing doors was to loud for the family). I am at a loss as to what could be the problem, I was told to try and jump it and had no luck. All electrical components seem to work, but the car won't start. It was also mentioned to me that it could be a bad starter, but from watching videos on youtube the car doesn't make that type of sound. I know the description is vague and weak but is there any idea what could be the problem? |
