Default 2008 Altima - How smooth should the CVT be?

Just bought a 2008 Altima with 55k miles on it, and although I'm not sure what a CVT is supposed to feel like, I'm not sure if it is functioning properly. When accelerating slowly, between 20-40mph, it doesn't feel very smooth. Not really sure how to describe it. Feels like erratic spurts of hesitation or slippage. Can someone tell me if this is normal or if I need to take it in to get it checked?

Thanks!
Darrin

It should be very smooth. Have it looked at; Nissan extended the warranty on the CVT to 100k miles.

my 08 has 47K miles. I checked the cvt oil....
it's like clear with a little yellowish color.
It took me couples days to get used to the CVT at low speed.
Every time it happens,I just step on the gas a little bit...
bring the rpm over 2000...give it a try.

It is normal to get a little bit of a vibration at low rpms. It usually feels like a manual transmission when you shift to the next gear a little early.

Yeah, but I wouldn't call that "erratic" as described in the original post.
