P0420/P0430 don't always mean a bad converter, but sometimes they may trigger because of a bad converter. Those codes are catalyst efficiency. If an engine isn't running properly, i.e. too lean, too rich, a misfire which can be caused by a number of things, including a bad intake valve, it will affect the emissions and could very easily cause catalyst efficiency codes to trigger.

Thank you I will try that 1st
I know that the previous owner replaced a bunch of things including : the timing chain set cam sensor - crank position sensor - spark plugs - head gasket -water pump -t-stat & housing -valve cover set - radiator cap - front engine mount - oil filter -air filter - and air duct (air horn) total cost 2442.00 any other advice?
