98 altima cig lighter help
girlfriend's 98 altima... the cigarette lighter has never worked (she plans to use for phone charger, etc.). finally able to get in there and check things out...
fuse = OK (and replaced just to make sure) multimeter reading on wires connecting to lighter read @ 12V the gold rectangular prong from the cigarette socket was slotted into the female connection shown. Is that how it is supposed to be connected?... Does it just slide in there? the connected cigarette lighter was removed and replaced with another to rule out faulty receptacle. i have no experience with this... also, haven't seen any examples of connecting a cigarette lighter using this specific connection. how should this be connected? seems too simple... yet, it's not working. possible short in wiring? |

Unfortunately I can't see the image you uploaded, but if you are getting 12 volts at the cig lighter connector, then the problem is the cig lighter it self. Also make sure the charger you are using is OK.
