Apologies in advance for re-resurrecting this old thread. Just trying to be helpful...

It's been about 8 years since that comment, and I suspect things may have changed some in regards to the quality of the off-brand parts. From personal experience, the auto parts store brands are fine. I replaced the cam and crankshaft sensors on my 2004 about 5 years ago using the cheapest thing I could find at O'Reilly that still had a lifetime warranty, and they are still working fine. If one fails before I pass this car on to someone else, at least with the warranty I won't be out another ~$40-50.

You could certainly buy genuine if it makes you feel warm and fuzzy, or it's more convenient to you. However I'd argue that there's no reasonable guarantee that a Nissan part will be any more reliable or durable than another brand, since clearly the Nissan part has its own history of failures.

Hi, I have been searching for quite some time now it seems that nobody has an answer for my question, I'm looking to see if anybody here can help me with my dilemma, I have a 2005 nissan altima 3.5l v6, I'm trying to replace the knock sensor harness but it seems that it's not available for purchase, this hardness is not the one with a two connector, the harness includes bank 1 camshaft position sensor connector if someone has replaced this harness and have a part number that will be very helpful, thanks

You're more likely to find help if you start a separate thread on the topic.

I have an 09 Altima never any problems until one day it coasted to a stop. I get P0725 code and its the only code. Someone bought a new sensor and what i am wondering is if they bought the right sensor and how i get to the sensor to replace it? And is there any other procedures I need to follow after it is replaced? I see a service bulliten about it but have been unable to find out what the details were.
