Best brand of starter for 1995 Altima
I need a new starter for my 1995 Altima. What is a good brand to buy. The car starts, but it makes a terrible grinding sound. Some of the teeth may be missing. This car is for a kid who will be driving for the first time and we need no issues with a starter. I have someone who will install it, but i don't know which to buy. Is a remanufactured Bosch better than a new, say Delco.
I bought this car from the drug impound lot and you should see the "rig" they have for a push-button ignition. It is lovely. I suspect the starter switch went bad and this was their way of replacing it (any suggestions for a new one of those?). You should also see the wires coming off the positive battery cable. It looks like and octopus. The giant red cable to run the huge "home speaker" system in the trunk makes me laugh! I suspect I will be posting here a lot as we restore this car to get form point A to point B, so I am glad to find such a wealth of knowledge. Last edited by NissanTech; 03-28-2011 at 09:38 AM. |

If we buy reman starter, we buy it from AutoZone. AZ give us good price, good warranty and pay the labor if the starter goes bad.
If you have to choose I suggest Bosh.
