2001 Altima will cranks, but not start...
Hello, my dad has a Nissan Altima 2001, it's 4 cylinder automatic gxe, the problem with car is that it won't start, the engine will crank, but will not start, I've checked it doesn't looks like it has a spark, I pulled out the spark plug, and grounded it, tried to start to see if the sparks are gonna appear, but haven't seen any sparks, not sure where to start and what to check. Never had any experience with nissan, so not sure where to start and what to check, if anyone had any experience like that, or know anything about that issue, please help.
Thank you, Vitaliy |

Hod did you check if there is spark?
CHECK IGNITION SPARK. 1. Disconnect ignition wire from spark plug. 2. Connect a known good spark plug to the ignition wire. 3. Place end of spark plug against a suitable ground and crank engine. 4. Check for spark. If there is no spark, then you have to check the distributor cap and rotor. Replaced the cap and rotor if necessary. Let us know if that doesn't work and we may be able to help you perform other inspections.
