2003 Nissan Altima Sudden loss of acceleration
Hello,
I have been having a problem with my Altima. While driving it will suddenly lose acceleration. I can floor it and it wont accelerate, sometimes allowing me to reach 2000 rpms. i have to pull over and turn on and off the car until i can press the accelerator and i get revs. sometime the car starts in that state. idles fine and doesn't turn off. i have changed the computer and changed some pipes in the exhaust and haven't had any luck. Any help would be appreciated. |

Here might be a solution.
2002 Maxima High Engine Rev When Shifting from 2nd to 3rd I just bought a 2001 Maxima with 108K miles. It started doing this after I drove only 2000 miles. I asked the guy I bought it from, and he figured out the throttle position sensor needed adjusting when this car did the same thing for him. Might be the same solution for an Altima as the Maxima. Hope this helps! |

My 03 Sentra had the same basic problem. However, it turned out to be an overcharging alternator. Weird.
