Code P0507, need help
Hello, I've searched the forums but can't find a solution, so am reaching out to you all.
I have a 2003 Altima, 3.5 with the P0507 code, high idle. I replaced the MAF, the throttle body with a new TB not a rebuilt, and also replaced the PCV valve. I clear the code with my scanner, completed the Pedal, throttle position, and IAC relearn with success, it idles around 700-800 RPM...UNTIL I turn off the engine. Once restart, the idles back up to 1200-1300 RPM steady in Park. Do it all over again, several times, idles good, codes cleared, turn off the car and BOOM, high idles back, and codes throws soon. Please help, have you seen this before and what helps? |

Maybe PCM is retaining some learned info and uses it on each restart.
Have you tried disconnecting battery for a while? This would clear any retained data and then you could do the relearn. No other codes that indicate engine running lean? Are fuel trims,TPS,ECT reading normal? |

Hi, I did disconnect the battery for an hour, but still get high idle back after turning car off.
No other codes, just the P0507. My scanner won't read the fuel trims, TPS, or ECT. |

Ok, since it does go thru the relearn but reverts back to a high idle when restarted then look for a vacuum leak.
Lots of info on line on how to do this. Simplest would be to use water bottle and sprinkle on the intake after the MAF. Your looking for bubbling cause by vacuum leak. Being able to monitor fuel trims and other engine parameters is important. It will help pinpoint problem. |

OK, I'll look into that, thank you.

Try do the Mixture Ratio Self-Learning. You've disconnected the battery cable already which usually reset any learned parameters. After doing this procedure and after a re-start, idle speed is high, do the IAVL procedures again.

I used Windex (which bubbles easily) and soaked every conceivable connection, with no bubbles. Can't find a vacuum leak.
Completed the IAVL procedures with success at least a dozen times, but once again, each time, after shutting off vehicle, idle back to 1200ish in Park. I guess it's off to the stealership... |

Let us know the outcome, interesting problem.
Is there a save step after doing the relearn? |
