Fuel Gauge No Longer Responds
I've searched for a post from someone who has experienced the same problem I am, but can't seem to find any.
Today my '05 Altima 3.5SE would not start. Following my failed attempts to jumpstart it I replaced the battery with a new one. The car now starts however, my fuel gauge seems irresponsive and is nowhere near a level-indicating mark. It is also the only non-functional gauge. I'll explain using a description of an analog clock. If 'F' represents 1 o'clock, 'E' 5 o'clock my gauge currently sits at 11 o'clock and that whether the engine is running or not. Could something have gotten messed up while replacing the battery? If so, what? Can anyone recommend something else I can look at before taking my car to a dealership/technician? Thanks, |

Until a Specialist replies...I pulled this from your Service Manual Section DI - DRIVER INFORMATION SYSTEM.
Hope this helps...

Thanks for the answer vpnavy. I decided to go 'Geico' (so simple even a caveman could do it) on the dashboard. A few bangs of the fist and the needle is now responsive.
I'll keep monitoring it, but it seems to be working now. Thanks again |

Cool! Now danom8ga - I don't want to read about a person running all around their car hitting it with their fist!
