Question Nissian Altima won't start after sitting a feew weeks

Hi. I need some advice on what to look at next.

I have a 2004 Nissian Altima, 2.5L automatic.

It has been sitting in my driveway for a few weeks, un-driven, un-started.

I went to drive it a week ago and the battery (purchased in January) was flat. Charged it up a it turns over, but won't run. Was able to crank a long time with the charger connected.

I believe I got 1 or 2 combustions when first starting it, but none after that. I may have pumped the gas.

  • You may assume the vehicle has been sitting for a month with a dead battery which is now charged.

Tested:
  • Wiped off plugs, which were damp, probably with fuel.
  • Dried extra fuel/liquid out of all 4 cylinders using napkin tipped tool. Liquid smelled of gasoline, and did not appear to be coolant. May have been some oil.
  • There was definitely fuel in the cylinders, I could smell it when the plugs were out.
  • Some kind of fuel smell out the tail pipe, but it smelled of gasoline or incomplete combustion.
  • Checked ignition coils which all measured good with my multi-tester.
  • No ECU error codes yet
  • Not sure quality of fuel in tank, but it's about a month and a half old. I buy regular grade gas.

Recent repairs:
  • Replaced burst hose from engine block to heater core.
  • Replaced battery
  • Replaced head gasket (valve/cam cover bolts were not all tightened by hired mechanic! )
  • "Machine shop work?" on head
  • Replaced upper timing chain
  • Replaced alternator
  • Plugs replaced a year ago
  • 1x ignition coils replaced 2 years ago.
Problem is not:
  • Not starter
  • Not a dead battery

I'm hoping this is an obvious problem... I'm just not sure what that is, or what to start looking at first. I assume it's fuel or spark related. A clog maybe?

Hoping someone can point me to a component or cleaning procedure.

I appreciate any help.
