'08 Manual Coupe - Electrical Issues
Hi All - looking for a bit of advice before I take my Altima into a dealer.
About 6 weeks ago, my Manual Altima Coupe wouldn't start - the starter would click, but no ignition. After several attempts with the pushbutton, the electrical system stayed active and would not shut off. Eventually I disconnected the battery, reconnected it, jump started it, and everything seemed ok. The same problem happened again today. I have a year old battery, so I don't expect that to be a problem. Since it's a manual - and seems to jump reliably - it doesn't sound like it is the same thing as the "brake switch problem" that I have been reading about. Does anyone else have any tests to attempt to identify the route cause? Thanks, Brian |

For M/T there's also a clutch switch. So you might want to look into that.

I would have the battery tested first. There is a bulletin for a bcm reprogram for a similar issue. I'm not sure but I think it also applies to the coupe.

Thanks guys - this is some good information. I've been reliably able to jump start the car, so I think that may rule out the interlock on the clutch. I'll get the battery checked, though it's only a year old.
