2012-2013 NISSAN NV; TAKATA INFLATOR FIELD QUALITY PARTS COLLECTION INITIATIVE
Nissan is conducting this Takata Inflator Field Quality Parts Collection Initiative to replace the driver air bag inflator on certain pre-selected 2012-2013 NV 1500, 2500, 3500, and Passenger vehicles in the States of Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Iowa, Idaho, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. This service will be performed at no charge to the customer for parts or
labor.
Collected parts will be sent to Takata for analysis. Takata has issued return packaging, shipping labels, documents, and directions that must be used and followed in order to properly carry out this initiative. Takata’s documentation is attached and is part of this bulletin.
-REVISED- VARIOUS NISSAN MODELS; DTC P0456 CAUSED BY EVAP LEAK AT VENT CONTROL VALVE O-RING
The MIL is ON in an APPLIED VEHICLE with DTC P0456 (EVAP VERY SML LEAK)
AND
DTC P0456 is not caused by a loose fuel fill cap (refer to NTB13-097).
An EVAP leak has been detected where the vent control valve mounts to the canister.
The vent control valve O-ring seal is determined to be the cause.
2013-2016 NISSAN NV200; CRANK NO START OR ENGINE STARTS WITH NO THROTTLE RESPONSE, AND ETC RELATED DTC(S) STORED
While the ambient temperature is below freezing (below 32°F / 0°C), the vehicle is operated as follows:
The engine is started and the vehicle driven a short distance.
The vehicle is then parked outside (engine turned OFF), and allowed to sit for at least 10 minutes.
2013-2017 ALL NISSAN MODELS; CLEANING FRONT OR REAR COMBINATION LAMP ASSEMBLIES
When cleaning the “Front Combination Lamp” (Headlight housing) or “Rear Combination
Lamp” (Taillight housing) assemblies:
Use only a mild soap (special vehicle soap or general purpose dishwashing liquid), mixed with clean lukewarm (never hot) water.
Use a sponge or soft rag.
DO NOT USE:
Strong household soap, strong chemical detergents, gasoline or solvents.
VARIOUS NISSAN MODELS; FUEL TANK IS SLOW OR DIFFICULT TO FILL
The fuel tank is slow or difficult to fill (filling nozzle shuts off before tank is full).
VARIOUS NISSAN MODELS; BALL JOINT AXIAL END PLAY PROCEDURE
When working on the front suspension, use the updated service information in this bulletin along with the Electronic Service Manual (ESM).
VARIOUS NISSAN MODELS; DIAGNOSIS INFORMATION FOR ABS DTC C1130
When diagnosing for DTC C1130 (ENGINE SIGNAL): ECM related DTCs (P-codes) must be diagnosed, repaired, and DTCs erased first.
VARIOUS NISSAN MODELS; DOORS DIFFICULT TO CLOSE WITH TEMPERATURE BELOW FREEZING
The following incident, or the customer reports this incident:
The vehicle has been setting (not running) in temperatures below 14°F (-10°C) for an extended period (such as overnight). Then
A side door is opened. Then
The door is difficult to close/latch, will not close/latch with normal pressure; requires additional effort to close/latch, or the door may only latch half way. Then
The door will close/latch normally when the vehicle has warmed up (vehicle left in the sun, moved indoors, or driven for several minutes).
VARIOUS NISSAN MODELS; WORN IGNITION KEY WILL NOT TURN THE IGNITION SWITCH
A worn mechanical ignition key will not turn the ignition, feels rough while turning, or sticks while turning.
And
The customer confirms the mechanical ignition key had previously worked properly.
