2000-2003 NISSAN SENTRA; VOLUNTARY RECALL CAMPAIGN ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE (ECM) CASE HOLDER FOAM
Nissan has determined that some 2000-2002 model year Nissan Sentra vehicles equipped with the 1.8 liter engine and some 2002-2003 model year Nissan Sentra vehicles equipped with the 2.5 liter engine may have a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety. The engine might stop running while being driven due to contamination of the Engine Control Module (ECM) by the inner lining material. This may also result in the “Service Engine Soon” light coming on or poor driveability. If the engine stops running while driving, this could result in a crash without warning.
Nissan has determined that the headlamp assemblies on some 2001-2002 model year
Nissan Sentra vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 – Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment. In order to meet Safety Standard 108, tamperproof caps are installed at the factory on the horizontal adjustment device of the headlamp assemblies. This is to prevent misadjustment of the headlamps. These
tamperproof caps were mistakenly omitted on the vehicle and are required to assure compliance with FMVSS 108.
Nissan has determined that some 2000-2001 model year Nissan Sentra vehicles may have a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety. Cracks may develop between the cooling holes in the steel road wheel as a result of improper manufacturing. If cracks develop between a sufficient number of cooling holes, the wheel could fail and separate from the mounting hub and result in loss of control of the vehicle and a crash. The spare tire steel wheel is not affected by this condition.

2000-2001 NISSAN SENTRA; VOLUNTARY RECALL CAMPAIGN FRONT SUSPENSION BOLTS
Nissan has determined that some 2000 and 2001 model year Nissan Sentra vehicles may have a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety. There is a possibility that one or more of the attachment bolts for the front suspension lower control arms on the left and right side may break as a result of not being manufactured correctly. Broken attachment bolts could cause unusual noise from the front of the vehicle and/or vibration felt through the steering wheel when hitting bumps and could also affect the steering. If these symptoms are not noticed or are ignored, all of the control arm attachment bolts could break. This would cause difficulty in steering the vehicle and could result in loss of control of the vehicle and a crash.

2000-2001 NISSAN SENTRA; VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN ODOMETER REPLACEMENT
Some 2000/2001 model year Nissan Sentra vehicles contain odometers that were recently
replaced and the replacement odometer may be recording the distance traveled in kilometers instead of miles. As a result, the current odometer reading on these vehicles indicates a higher number than the actual miles traveled. To correct this condition, Nissan has initiated a Voluntary Service Campaign to check each vehicle, and if necessary, replace the odometer with one showing the correct mileage.
