2008 NISSAN ALTIMA SEDAN, ALTIMA COUPE; VOLUNTARY EMISSIONS RECALL CAMPAIGN ECM REPROGRAM AND MANIFOLD CATALYST
Nissan has determined that some 2008 Model Year Altima vehicles are equipped with an improperly calibrated Engine Control Module (ECM) that may incorrectly detect engine valve closure as engine knock. To correct this condition, Nissan is conducting this Voluntary Emissions Recall Campaign to reprogram the Engine Control Module, and inspect (and if needed replace) the exhaust manifold and front exhaust tube. This service will be performed at no charge for parts or labor.

20072012 NISSAN ALTIMA SEDAN, ALTIMA COUPE; VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER
Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Service Campaign on Model Year 2007-2012 Nissan Altima (L32) Sedan and Coupe vehicles to inspect the brake systems in vehicles with an illuminated brake warning lamp. Nissan dealers will inspect the brake system and confirm that no brake fluid leak is present. If no leak is present, the reservoir will be topped off. If a leak in the brake master cylinder is identified, the brake master cylinder will be replaced.

20072009 VARIOUS NISSAN MODELS; VOLUNTARY RECALL CAMPAIGN PASSENGER AIR BAG OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (OCS)
Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Recall Campaign to inspect the Occupant Classification System (OCS) Varistor located in the front passenger seat cushion. A special tool will be used for the inspection. If the inspection results are OK, no further action is necessary. If the special tool indicates an OCS Varistor issue, the seat cushion assembly will be
replaced. We anticipate that less than 1% of the affected vehicles will require seat cushion
replacement.

2007-2008 NISSAN ALTIMA SEDAN, 2008 ALTIMA COUPE; VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN EXHAUST HEAT SHIELD (2.5L)
Nissan has determined that on some 2007 2008 Altima Sedans and 2008 Altima Coupes equipped with the 2.5 liter four cylinder engines, a rattle noise may occur around the exhaust manifold heat shield during start up or at low engine speeds (approximately 1600 RPM). The symptom does not affect the operation of the engine or the vehicle. To address this issue, Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Service Campaign to install an exhaust stay bracket, and if necessary, also replace the exhaust manifold heat shield.

2007-2008 NISSAN ALTIMA SEDAN, 2008 ALTIMA COUPE; VOLUNTARY EMISSIONS RECALL CAMPAIGN OBD DIAGNOSTIC REPROGRAM
Nissan has determined that some 2007 and 2008 model Altima vehicles are equipped with an improperly functioning on-board emission-related diagnostic system that violates California standards and regulations. This condition may result in failure of the on-board diagnostic system to warn a driver that the catalytic converter is malfunctioning. To correct this condition, Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Emissions Recall Campaign to reprogram the Engine Control Module (engine computer). If this repair is not completed, affected vehicles may fail an emission inspection or I/M smog check test.

20072008 NISSAN ALTIMA SEDAN, ALTIMA HYBRID, 2008 ALTIMA COUPE; VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN BODY CONTROL MODULE / TPMS
Nissan has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in some 2007 and 2008 model year Nissan Altima vehicles. The vehicles affected by this campaign had the Body Control Module (BCM) replaced during service at a Nissan dealership after October 1, 2007 and before November 30, 2007. During that service, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) may have been inadvertently deactivated due to an issue with
the dealer service software. If the TPMS is turned off, it would not alert the driver to a decrease in the tire pressure as designed. Driving on under-inflated tires is unsafe and could result in a crash. To correct this potential condition Nissan is conducting a Voluntary
Safety Recall Campaign to check the TPMS function and reactivate it if necessary.

2007 NISSAN ALTIMA; VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN INTELLIGENT KEY
For the 2007 Altima (Sedan and Hybrid); Nissan has determined that some cell phones, if allowed to touch the Intelligent Key when receiving or sending a call, may alter the electronic code contained in the Intelligent Key. If this happens, the Intelligent Key may be damaged and would no longer lock or unlock the doors or start the engine. To correct this potential condition, Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Service Campaign to replace the Intelligent Keys. The improved replacement Intelligent Keys are not susceptible to this type of cell phone interference.

2007 NISSAN ALTIMA, ALTIMA HYBRID, 2008 ALTIMA COUPE; VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN AIR DEFLECTOR
Nissan has determined that some 2007 Altima Sedan and 2008 Altima Coupe vehicles equipped with the 2.5 liter four cylinder engine may benefit from the installation of an air deflector to the front of the engine air intake system opening. The purpose of the air deflector is to reduce the potential of debris such as leaves and paper entering the air intake system and being deposited on the air filter, which may reduce engine performance. This enhancement has been added in production and Nissan would like to offer the Installation of the air deflector to customers who purchased a vehicle manufactured before this change was made.
Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Service Campaign to install this new air deflector on affected vehicles to the engine air intake system free of charge for parts or labor. If the vehicle is already equipped with the new air deflector then no further action is required.

2007 NISSAN ALTIMA; VOLUNTARY RECALL CAMPAIGN AIR FILTER
Nissan has determined that on some 2007 model year Altima vehicles with the 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine, if a sufficiently hot object (cigarette ash, for example) enters the air filter housing through the engine air intake system on the subject vehicles and contacts the engine air filter, the air filter material may ignite and cause a fire to occur. To correct this potential condition, Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Recall Campaign to replace the air filter with a new one that has improved anti-flammability material characteristics.
