VARIOUS NISSAN MODELS; FUEL TANK IS SLOW OR DIFFICULT TO FILL
The fuel tank is slow or difficult to fill (filling nozzle shuts off before tank is full).
VARIOUS NISSAN MODELS; INFORMATION TO PREVENT CVT REPLACEMENT DUE TO MISDIAGNOSIS OF NOISE
With the engine running and the vehicle on a hoist, noise heard from the CVT may be louder (in Park, Neutral, Drive, or Reverse) than a non-CVT type transmission.
CVT transmissions are much louder without drive load, which may lead to misdiagnosis.
VARIOUS NISSAN MODELS; NISSAN INTELLIGENT KEY REPLACEMENT OR SWAPPING BETWEEN VEHICLES
The Intelligent Keys used on the various Nissan vehicles may not be interchangeable between models and years.
2005-2015 ALL NISSAN MODELS; ECM REPROGRAMMING – SERVICE INFORMATION
After ECM reprogramming, the Calibration Verification Number (CVN) needs to be automatically calculated prior to State emissions testing (also known as Inspection Maintainence, I/M, or SMOG testing depending upon location). Allowing the vehicle to idle for 22 minutes will allow for faster CVN calculation. It is recommended that customers utilize this method if the vehicle needs to be tested for emissions soon after ECM reprogramming.
VARIOUS NISSAN MODLES; PRECAUTIONS FOR CLEANING PAINTED ALLOY WHEELS
The appearance of painted alloy wheels can be damaged if acidic cleaners are used.
ALL NISSAN MODELS; DIAGNOSIS OF POOR ACCELERATION OR LACK OF POWER
If a customer describes lack of power or poor acceleration, perform the following checks before attempting any repair:
Check for stored DTCs.
Check if the driver is resting their left foot on the brake pedal while accelerating. Advise the customer not to rest their foot on the brake while accelerating.
Use CONSULT-III plus in Engine Data Monitor to check operation of the brake lamp circuit signal. Monitor the brake switch during the incident; it should be “OFF”.
ALL NISSAN MODELS; FLUID LEAK REPAIR SERVICE INFORMATION
The following information is provided to help ensure correct diagnosis and repair of fluid leaks. All fluid leaks, when properly diagnosed, should be repaired (whether under warranty or customer pay) to ensure proper vehicle operation.
-REVISED- 2007-2012 NISSAN ALTIMA; REDUCED PERFORMANCE DUE TO CVT FLUID TEMPERATURE PROTECTION LOGIC
The maximum vehicle speed is, or was, reduced by the CVT fail-safe logic after continuous operation under the following conditions:
High RPM and/or high speed driving (RPM of 4000+ or speeds of 65 mph (104.6 km/h) for 1.0 – 1.5 hrs or more)
Driving in ambient temperature of 96 degrees or higher
Climbing steep or extended hills for 6 miles (9.6 km) or more
Whine or rattle type noise occurring during reduced engine performance (vehicle speed decrease)
ALL NISSAN MODELS; LOW TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM
This bulletin has compiled Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) and Low Tire Pressure
Warning System (LTPWS) information for:
Basic Diagnosing of TPMS/LTPWS systems.
Aftermarket wheels.
Inflating/deflating tires with TPMS/LTPWS sensors.
Moving TPMS/LTPWS wheel assemblies from one vehicle to another and TPMS/LTPWS sensor registration.
Radio Frequency interference causing a “No Data” (C1708, C1709, C1710, C1711) condition.
Sensor leaks.
Air pressure changes with altitude and ambient temperatures.
