If it was my vehicle I would do the bearings and seals, not the entire axle assembly. I haven't noticed a difference in the new parts and it is less expensive. If you are going to check the pinion bearing then you will have to remove the other axle so yes you should replace that seal and bearing while you are in there. The fluid and differential breather should also be replaced.
