2003 Sentra GXE 1.8 Fuel Regulator Problem
I recently went to the dealership to have a trans flush done and they noticed I had hard starts. After sitting for a short time it took several seconds of cranking to get the engine running. They said it was probably the fuel pressure regulator in the tank. So I went to the local parts store to order a new one for $56, instead of the $465 from the dealership! The part arrived and I opened up the tank, removing the pump assembly and low and behold what did I find? Nothing that looks what I bought! After researching a bit more I found that there is indeed a regulator in the tank. It is part of the pump assembly. Now I know why the huge cost difference. Is it possible to purchase the regulator for the pump and rebuild it myself or do I have to buy a whole new assembly?
