I just removed an AC clutch shim on my 1998 Frontier to adjust the AC clutch gap, about 6 weeks ago. And it has worked perfectly (Arizona) since then. On mine, I used three 5mm bolts to pull the clutch drive plate off, did all this with compressor and belt installed. See Post #126 here
