2007 X - I would give it a strong 3.5 out of 5, here are my reasons for this:
6000 Miles The car layout is just perfect for what i do, snowboard, windsurf, mountain bike. There is a lot of storage space for just about anything, the car is easy to clean (even after 1000k mile snowboarding trips). Interior is well designed although better materials should have been used. Handling is great, steering is tighter then my previous trucks, acceleration is exceptional, and the engine rumble is sweet. I've driven this truck in snow, sand, and ice, the traction was and still is superb. Here is a list of the problems I've had with the truck: Squeaky Rear suspension after the first week of use ( no off-road driving) This issue was fixed by replacing the rear leaf spring. Creaking noise when windows went up or down. Fixed, but still happens occasionally. Squeak Coming from underneath the hood. This was a result of the AC condenser bracket coming loose. Fixed. The problem bothering me the most: 4wd does not disengage properly: After driving on slippery surface on to the pavement i switch in to 2wd but does not disengage right away. Last time it took me 2 Miles to get to back to 2wd. New Problem? or Normal? Conclusion: The engineers obviously took the design of this car seriously. The car offers significantly more for thousands of dollars less: I got my 2007 Xterra S 4x4 for 20,000 (new). Cant complain about the price or the features. However the car did require me to spend too many Saturdays on the first few months of ownership in the dealer. Nissan Consumer Affairs does not treat the customer like a human being ether. Design 5/5 Quality 3/5 Nissan Customer Service 2.5/5 -Great car but needs improvement. |

We bought this car in Mar, 2008 - used with 13k miles on it. Since I don't have to climb into the back seat, I like everything about this car. It took getting used to, being LARGE and higher up than our 1997 Pathfinder. But the quality, comfort, handling, power, and even fuel economy is better than I expected.
We tow a 2,300 lb pop-up camper and get 15 - 17 MPG on the highway, with overdrive disengaged per the manual. 17 - 20 MPG on the highway without the trailer. I've bought parts from the local Nissan dealer (trailer hitch related) that we bought our Pathfinder from. No trouble with the dealer. My wife and I both really like this car. It's best in yellow :smoke_1: |

Hi all,
First I want to say I am Canadian but I couldn't find nor did I really search for a Canadian Nissan Fourum. I live in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. It's winter here about 8 months of the year. we hit highs of about +25 celsius (77 F) in the summer and about -50 celsius ( -58 F) in the winter. So this vehicle will be going through a 75 degree temperature change over a year. In Canada we only have 3 options. S, Off Road and SE. I just bought the 6-speed manual Off Road model. My positives: --very quiet engine --quick acceleration --smoothness of the drive in general --bluetooth My Negatives/obervations: --steering sways a bit too much --brakes could be firmer - the feel is too soft/mushy --loud wind noise at high speeds ( I hate this one the most) --small back door --No Trip computer with multiple functions ( No Distance to Empty when I'm in the bush this is important) --Interior should be much better --First gear is sometimes hard to get into I have the same views as some of the other writers on here. Being that I live in Canada we actually pay more for our vehicles, why I don't know. Either way I payed 38,000.00 Canadian dollars for this SUV and this is my first import buy and I should not be seeing any of these problems. I'm leasing so we'll see how things go. For that amount of money I expected a little more I guess. I only bought it because it was the only SUV that was still a manual. If I needed a truck I would have bought a Toyota Tacoma. I think Nissan needs to take there higher end model interiors and put them in the lower end models. Or get some one who knows how to design the interior of vehicles and make them look good because you do have to look at it. Free tip for Nissan, make all your vehicles come with the Nissan Intelligent Key keyless entry with Push Button Ignition. One type instead of three different kinds save some money. Also Multi-functional trip computer. Everyone wants to know how many KM or Miles they have left in the tank and Eco information. Look at the gas prices! For my first Import SUV it is okay. If there are no changes I will have to go to Toyota. |
