Default Crack Exhaust Manifold

I heard last week that Nissan settle a class action lawsuit over crack exhaust manifolds. I called consumer affairs and question them about the settlement.
I was told if I had a exhaust manifold issue, I would need to supply the vin of the vehicle and see if the vehicle is part of the class action suit.. That is all I know at this time.

I have not heard of that one yet. I have seen alot of xteras and frontiers with cracked manifolds. Seems to always be the right side. Nissan had a similar problem with pathfiders. They extended the warranty on those manifolds to 100k miles.

Default Crack Exhaust Manifold

I heard about it about a week ago. I ask Nissan Consumer affairs about it. They told me to supply them with a vin number and they would look up the vin and see if the vehicle was part of the class action lawsuit settlement.

Was it hard to do it yourself. I think both of mine are cracked as well, as the labour I got quoted at the dealership is ridiculous.

The bolts on the bottom side are a little difficult to access, but all-in-all it is a straight forward process......It was the heat shields that gave me a serious headache. I broke off most of them while attempting to remove....They are at the local dump now...:)

How do i contact nissan to find out if my vehicle iis part of the lawsuit. I have a crack in my ps exhaust manifold, quite annoying. Quicksteel doesnt cut it for a repair. It has 140k miles, no warranty, dont want to pay for repair.

Default Class ACtion lawsuit - cracked manifold

I just called my local dealer in riverside,ca and talked to both parts and service mangagers to find out about this lawsuit. they had never heard of one before, for the Xterra. only the 350Z.

I next called nissan consumer affairs and got the same answer. different voice - they said same thing. no lawsuit on record for any xterra, period. where did this lawsuit info originally come from.

Sorry to revive and old-ish thread but, is this class action thing still going on? Both manifolds on my 01 Frontier CC SC are cracked and my truck is under 100k miles. Dealer wants $1.3k to replace (um, no).

If need be I can buy the manifolds and try to replace myself but...

I had both exhaust manifolds replaced by dealer before 100k miles and paid for it! Any ideas what I can do now as they are both cracked again at 145k miles?

Not much really. They are only covered for 12,000 miles.
