2005 altima tire wear issue
The prior thread is now closed but the issue still exists.
My '05 altima is burning through tires. I have alligned the car twice (all wheels) since '08 and still have uneven wear, vibration and noise. I finally had a mechanic admit that the Altima has very little adjustment for alligning properly (and staying that way). This is a design flaw that Nissan needs to admit. It is not the tires. I have had two different sets of tires and the same result...even with "proper" rotation. An allignment flaw will burn ANY tire. I love my altima but this is unsafe. |

If the shop is doing the alignment properly then that wouldn't be the cause of the tire wear. Worn shocks or struts can cause tires to wear. Have they checked the suspension to see if anything is loose? There is plenty of adjustment on that year altima to align it properly.
