Default Versa Starting Problem - Fuel Pump!

I've been watching a lot of threads across the net. I came across a problem (9 people already had the problem) affecting our Versa's.

Problem: Versa won't start on first try. It will start on second try.

Solution: New Fuel Pump

Explanation: Behind the injectors, there's about 32# of fuel pressure. The door from the injector unit isn't closing as it should to build up the fuel pressure thus there's no gas in the injectors. The reason the car starts up on the 2nd try is because the first attempt at starting creates the needed pressure. This is covered by your warranty.

Interim Solution: All 9 owners had to wait for a new fuel pump to arrive. In the meantime they had to turn the key to the "on" position for about 5-10 seconds and it should start right up (this will build the needed pressure). A few refused to drive their Versa's until the fuel pump came in - they all got loaners.

Sounds like a similar problem with the sentras. Nissan came out with a repair kit for the problem. I would bet if they see enough of these they will do the same here. So far no complaints about this at our shop but it is good info to have in case one comes in. Thanks
