Steering wheel shake under high speed braking
I have a 2008 Versa SL hatchback. The steering wheel shakes violently under heavy braking at speeds over 55 MPH. I had this same problem on another car and the cause was a warped brake rotor. I assumed that was the case here and replaced the front disk brake rotors and pads which did not help. Next, I replaced the brake calipers and mounts on both front wheels again with no effect.
Being out of brake parts to replace I am now out of ideas how to fix the problem. Any thoughts? |

Sometimes what causes the rotor to warp is over tighten lug nut or damage wheel bearing or hub bearing assembly. If replacing the rotors didn't fix the problem, then the more likely cause of the problem is the wheel bearing/hub assembly.
