Default First oil change interval

So far I have 3 recommendations. The service manual says 7500 miles. Dealrship 1 says 3750 and the origin dealership says 1000 miles. Any advice? BTW, This car will be subjected to normal service conditions.

Default Over 3,750 miles?

I have just over 1,000 miles on my new Altima and next week I am going on a 2,500 mile trip. If I go past 3,750 will it matter or is it better to get the oil changed before I go? Thanks.

Default First Oil Cjhange

There are Nissan Dealers all over the country, why not change the oil at 3750 miles while on your vacation. It will only take 1/2 hour. As you can see from my origional post the experts all support this mileage interval.

Nissan manual says to take it to the normal oil change interval as long as its the corresponding service interval. ie. severe, preffered or the normal one.

Some people believe that dumping the first oil change out sooner is better for the engine. It is not and almost always the factory fill has alot of moly from the assembly lube and that is very benneficial for engine break in.

Dont go over the recommended Oil change interval for your driving habbits or your warranty could be affected. Like the above poster said stop off at a shop on the way.
