Noise under the hood

For the past months or so I have been getting this noise like knotting from under the hood when the engine is at idle. But when you open the hood there is no noise from the top area that could be hear only when you stand on the driver side, front tires, where you hear this noise.
I have not notices any diffence in engine performance or any warning lights.
I have taken it to the Nissan dealer but they say there nothing that can be heard from the engine. I don’t believe them so I’m hoping some out there can help……..

are u sure its not just the regular engine noise, i mean u will hear have some engine noise.

is it a ticking noise? I get this very quietly but is starting to drive me nuts!
