Default Stripped threads, O2 Sensor screw in

I was replacing my O2 sensor and went too far. The manifold seems to have a replaceable " nipple " ( ? ). It is round, has threads and looks to have been pressed in place. The new sensor threads are 1 & 1/2 rotations ( ? ) and the " nipple " seems to be about the same. How do I replace the " nipple " ( it is a ring with threads in it, the sensor screws into the ring/nipple ). I tried the epoxy stuff that is like clay, you slice off a portion and squeeze it like putty. I placed it around the sensor and cleaned out the threads in the manifold. I let it sit overnight, drove 1000 yards the next day and it got blown/popped out. Where can I get another nipple ? Does a shop need to do the work ? Whats best, a machins shop, a muffler shop, a local auto service station or is a do it your selfer ?

A muffler shop should be able to help you. Usually the sensor gets damage and not the thread on the exhaust. You may be able to get the nipple from the dealer, some are replaceable and some don't. I can't remember if the one on the 06 sentra is.

Have you tryed to "chase"the threads with a tap.If that dont work a new "bung" will have to be welded in it's place.
